In late October, our chapter traveled to Philadelphia for the SHPE 2025 National Convention, bringing together professional development, hands-on technical experiences, and meaningful connections. Across workshops, technical challenges, and networking events, members engaged with industry leaders from companies such as Lockheed Martin Proctor & Gamble, and Northrop Grumman, gaining guidance for internships, career planning, and long-term growth. The two-day career expo offered direct access to over 100 STEM companies, where our members secured interviews, explored opportunities, and expanded their professional networks.
The Location
Located in SHPE’s Region 4, this year’s conference will be held in the Keystone state of Pennsylvania.
After full days of networking and professional development workshops, some members can take advantage of their downtime with a quick 20 minute walk to downtown for a fun change of pace.
The SHPE National Convention in Philly gives the Las Águilas chapter the perfect blend of professional growth, meaningful connections, and a unique experience of Pennsylvania’s charm.

Achieving New Heights
For the 2025 SHPE National Convention, our chapter prioritized professional growth and member development through the active participation in technical challenges, workshops, and networking socials. Our members had the opportunity to meet with recruiters, industry professionals, and MentorSHPE personnel who provided guidance on internship and full-time applications, career planning, and long-term professional development. These influences impacted our members greatly and led to many of them securing interviews and career development opportunities at the career fair.
Beyond professional development our members built deeper connections while adventuring down Philadelphia’s historic streets, bonding over memories from previous SHPE National Conventions,and indulging in more than a few Philly cheesesteaks. These moments fostered peer mentorship, strengthened our chapter’s sense of Familia, and encouraged collaboration that extended beyond the convention doors.

Join Us for the 2026 SHPE National Convention
This past convention was located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During the convention, SHPE publicly announced that the 2026 SHPE National Convention will be located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Our club will provide more information regarding Nationals once it gets closer. For now, we suggest becoming an official SHPE Member. While our club at the Embry-Riddle campus does not collect dues, SHPE itself has a membership that grants you access to a handful of resources including scholarships, job opportunities, resume reviews, and most importantly, discounted registration prices to all SHPE-hosted events
